DESCRIPTION:

The Eyrie is a fortified medieval guard tower built in Ashlar stone masonry on the lower levels and timber upper levels. The model features precision-cut parts and realistic material finishes. Openable windows, doors, and side panels have been provided. Each floor is detachable to allow easy access to the interiors. Provision to install lights has been provided on each floor. Detailed truss work and roofing shingles have been provided. One free modular wall unit has been provided along with the Eyrie kit. The Eyrie towers over the surrounding landscape affording a clear view of the countryside. The Eyrie is a guard tower designed to provide defenders with a protected elevated position from which they detect and engage attackers. These guard towers were usually placed within arrow range of each other along the perimeter of the castle walls to ensure there were no blind spots in the castle defenses. Attackers would find it difficult to mount a sneak attack, a prolonged siege would be the only option.
